Neon Trend

Hi Gals! I am here to blog about the latest trend I have noticed: NEON! I recently entered a competition to spot the latest trends and have decided to share it with you guys on here as well. Let me know what you guys think!
NEON- It For Spring and Summer 2013
What Color Describes YOU?

When studying abroad in Paris, we discussed many trends currently on the market. The most popular seen in both Europe and America was the consistency of neon colors. Truthfully, everyone strives to be recognized for their individuality. By rocking neon colors we can stand-out, as well as show off our personality and individuality. Our education included pictures from neon attire to even neon hair, nails and neon make-up. When flying back to America, every passenger curiously asked me “So what are the trends in Paris?” Here I am to tell you NEON! NEON! NEON!

Now we know neon is a hit, but I would like to focus on neon make-up, particularly neon and metallic colored lips!
Metallic Lips Right now, metallic or two-tone lips are a major trend right now.” http://www.taaz.com/trends/makeup/how_to/metallic-lips/rozkm9romah6jvafrxjowzn-xtblfvb5.html

While Ombre Lips are still
making headway, I would argue the trend is moving more toward bold and metallic lip colors. This can be achieved with the Ombre trend, or with dramatic bright metallic or rainbow lips or even a simple neon pink lip.  Keep reading to see how you can achieve the look you want!

Bold metallic, lips, set to a neutral and clean face palate perfect for fall [and] a night out on the town any time of the year!”
Look One: Ombre Metallic Look How to Guide (You may chose other colors then the ones listed)
Step One: Apply A matte Red Lipstick or Neon Purple Lipstick
Step Two: Apply Gold Metallic Powders in the center of your lip, carefully blending the shades
Step Three: Apply a shiny lip gloss over for finishing touches!

How to Do a Rainbow Lip: 10 Easy Steps

      1. Start off by softening your lips. You can't expect to pull off a bold lip look if your lips are chapped and cracked. You can make your own lip scrub by mixing together sugar and honey and spreading it on your lips with a toothbrush. Another option is to buy a lip scrub (Bath & Body Works sells them)
      2. After exfoliating, moisturize your lips with petroleum jelly or a good lip balm.
      3. Begin to line your lips with a neutral lipliner that matches your lips natural color
      4. Start filling in your lips with the same liner.
      5. Now to begin your rainbow lips, start by getting a very small tiny lip brush and a small paper plate. You can do horizontal or vertical stripes.
      6. Take all the colors of lipstick you're using and swipe a big amount of them onto the paper plate. It should look like a painter's palette with paint circles on it.
      7. Add lip glosses into the palette. It will bring a lot of shine and will add that "3-D" pop-out factor to the bold lipsticks.
      8. Begin by taking a regular medium-sized lip brush and swiping on your color however you want it to be. It can be stripes, swirls, or even tie-dye. Don't worry about it looking uneven and messy; you will line your lips again later.
      9. To line your lips and make them look clean and neat, take the little skinny tiny lip brush and with precision, line each little colored section of the lip with the same lipstick you used to make that stripe. For example, if half of your lips are blue, line that side of your lips with blue.
      10. Don't smack your lips together! That might ruin and smear the design. Smacking or rubbing your lips together in this look is only okay when you want the colors to be swirly. Now your Look is Complete (Gucci, 2013).

How to Bling Out Your Lips with One Color
1.   Neutralize: First, you want to cancel out all of the natural color in your lips. This step will give you a neutral base to work with and ultimately make your lip color pop! Take your foundation powder or concealer, and blend over your lips.
2.   Lip Lining: With small strokes, define the top and bottom of your lips and slightly fill in the lip.
3.   Red Lips: Apply a red lip color of your choice.
4.   Metal Mania: There are several ways as well as products to do this. You can use eye shadow, pigment, gloss or lipstick. The most popular choice seems to be with loose shadow.  For the bold and metallic red look apply the red shadow of your choice all over, finish with a clear or metallic red lip gloss of your choice (Beauty, 2012).

Don’t Want to Take the Time or Invest in all the Products to Create the Neon Metallic Look? Check out Lip Metallic LipFoils
       How to use Metallic Foils:
Ensure your lips are clean, dry and oil free. Use an oil free cleanser to remove any build up of lip gloss, balms or lipsticks.
     1. Apply an even, generous layer of Lip Rock adhesive to the lips.
2. Leave for 2 minutes until the white adhesive has gone clear.
3. Taking your chosen lip Rock sheet apply shiny side out to the lips.
4. Press and rub firmly.
5. Holding the corner of your mouth with one hand pull the Lip Rock sheet firmly and swiftly off the lips with the other.
You can touch up by repeating the process on any gaps taking special care to leave the adhesive for 2 minutes or till gone clear.
TO REMOVE: Use a facial cleansing wipe or make removing lotion.

Even I Rocked the Neon Lips!
Here is what I did: First I applied hot pink or neon bright pink lipstick. Then I grabbed a lip brush and dabbed neon purple eye shadow right in the center of my lips. I completed my look with a clear lip gloss on top. Add neon accessories such as my bright neon pink zebra head band shown here to bring out your lips even more! I received so many compliments with this look. I highly suggest you try it too!
